Our Chairman on step 5&6 focus group
At last weekend's league conference for steps 1-6, Bulmers Cider Kent League chairman Denise Richmond was elected onto the step 5/6 focus group.
Reflecting on her appointment, a delighted Denise told the league website: "I'm looking forward to learning about, and using, initiatives to continue to drive for the development of step 6 in Kent."
The group is formed of just six representatives from all step 5 and 6 leagues in England, of which there are 18.
The group meets regularly to facilitate change and development at steps 5 and 6, in order to share experience for both clubs and leagues around the country.
They also liaise with the alliance committee (conference, northern, southern and ryman leagues) to ensure smooth promotion and relegation of clubs within the leagues system.

Step 6 league in Kent for 2010/11 season
A new league at step 6 in Kent will be formed in time for the 2010/11 season.
The news follows a meeting which was held at the KCFA last Thursday between the Kent League and the Kent County League.
The meeting was intended to discuss the next steps in the development of step 6 following the successful clubs meeting in May.
The discussions between the two leagues were detailed and comprehensive, with both leagues wanting to develop and administer the new step.
Following a suggestion from the Football Association, it was agreed that each league would present their case to the FA Leagues committee as to who should be responsible for administering the new league.
"It's another positive step," said Kent League chairman Denise Richmond. "There will be a new step 6 league in Kent formed for the start of next season and that can only be of benefit for football in the county and surrounding area."
The Bulmers Cider Kent League can confirm that they have now officially received the resignation of Slade Green from the Premier Division.
The news comes less than two weeks before the start of the season and leaves just 15 teams in the Premier Division.
Kent League chairman Denise Richmond said: "Despite meeting with the management committee of Slade Green and also them having several interested parties regarding the club's future, they have officially told us that they will not be competing in the league next season.
"It's disappointing news and we're very sorry to see them leave as they were a long serving member of the league and a popular club.
"It's indicative of the times and shows the need for changes to the structure in the region in order to build solid foundations for the future.
"Whilst that doesn't immediately help Slade Green or the League, it does mean the future will be shaped by such improvements."
