The Bulmers Cider Kent League are pleased to announce they have agreed a three-year extension with Molten, our official ball sponsor.
The highly successful deal will now run until 2012 and will see the Bulmers Cider Kent League among the first leagues in the country to use the Fifa-approved Molten VG-5000 AW orange ball.
The Molten VG-5000 AW orange ball will be used for all league and league cup matches throughout the season.
Denise Richmond, chairman of the Kent League, said: “We are delighted to have renewed the Molten sponsorship for the League.
“Our players love playing with the Molten ACENTEC Vantaggio ball, because of its accuracy, and the way it does not retain water or allow mud to stick to it in wet weather.
“In fact, there has not been one complaint about the quality of the Molten football in the past three years.
“Naturally, we are looking forward to playing with the new orange-coloured Molten VG ball and to be the first League in the UK to do so. We are also very pleased by the commitment Molten is showing to the teams in terms of substantial discounts for our members on Molten products and rebates to the League on all ball sales that we generate. This is truly a mutually beneficial partnership.”
Designed specifically for UK winters, the new Molten VG-5000 AW has been manufactured using Molten’s new cross fusion bonding technique, which eliminates the traditional hand-stitching method used by all other balls.
Molten’s ground-breaking technology means that the ball does not absorb water in wet conditions and therefore its weight and shape remain constant. In addition, the absence of hand-stitched seams means that mud does not adhere to the ball, making for a perfectly round ball. Its bright orange colour with the familiar Molten ACENTEC logo and design make it a highly visible and stylish looking ball.
Bob Hope, chairman of Molten Sports, added: “Molten is proud to be associated with the Kent Football League and to be in a position to renew our sponsorship.
“We are sure all the players are going to enjoy playing with our new orange-coloured VG ball. Not only is it a highly visible and stylish ball, but it is manufactured using Molten’s patented and innovative ACENTEC technology, which greatly enhances player accuracy when passing and shooting.”
Corinthian were voted into the Bulmers Cider Kent League Premier Division on Wednesday night. The move was part of two votes held at an extraordinary meeting of member clubs at Lordswood FC.
The first part of the meeting heard that Division 2 outfit Welling United reserves had been given permission to rename their team in the league Corinthian and awarded intermediate status. After a lengthy debate, a vote was passed to accept the name change. At this point of the meeting, the only change to the constitution had been to change the name of the side competing in Division 2 from Welling United to Corinthian.
League chairman Denise Richmond then started a second part of the meeting where, with the approval of the Football Association, a proposal was made to accept Corinthian in the Premier Division. After another debate, it was made clear that this was an internal matter and Corinthian did not need to be part of the national league structure (under Regulation for the establishment and operation of the national league system rule 6).
Denise Richmond said: "I'm delighted to welcome Corinthian, initially to our league but also to our Premier Division. Our clubs passed both votes at the EGM,, underlining their support of both the name change and the movement within the league. It is also, of course, welcome back to Corithian as they are a previous member of the league. I'm sure everyone is glad to see them with us and we wish them a successful season. It should also be made clear that the move of Corinthian from Division 2 to the Premier Division was done with the full approval of the Football Association."
Corinthian will not have a fixture this weekend and a further announcement regarding fixtures will be made later this week.
Corinthian will start their Premier Division season on Saturday, August 22 away to Beckenham Town.
It has been decided that Corinthian will take over the fixture list previously allocated to Slade Green, who resigned from the league on July 28.
In addition, the league's management committee have agreed that Corinthian will take Slade Green's place in the Premier Division Cup.
The outstanding fixture between Corinthian and Fisher will now be played on Saturday, August 29 at Gay Dawn Farm.
