One shining example is the partnership between Gillingham FC and the Kent Foodbank. The Gills, as they’re affectionately known, have been making regular donations to the local food bank, with players and staff lending a hand to sort and distribute essential supplies. “Our fans have always been the heartbeat of this club,” said Gillingham’s captain, Jude Soar. “Now, we’re thrilled to work alongside the Kent Foodbank and give back to the community that’s supported us through thick and thin.”
Across town, Maidstone United has teamed up with the Maidstone Youth Trust, offering football-themed workshops and coaching sessions for underprivileged youngsters. “We believe that the power of football can be a transformative force in the lives of these kids,” explained Maidstone’s manager, Emma Ryder. “By sharing our knowledge and passion for the game, we hope to inspire them, build their confidence, and open up new opportunities.”
But the community outreach efforts don’t stop there. Dartford FC has forged a unique collaboration with the Kent Wildlife Trust, utilizing their stadium as a hub for environmental education and conservation initiatives. “It’s important that we use our platform to raise awareness and support the protection of Kent’s natural habitats,” said Dartford’s midfielder, Liam Harding. “Our fans have really embraced this partnership, and we’re excited to see it grow in the years to come.”

“We want everyone to feel welcomed and valued at our stadium,” said Faversham’s club captain, Sarah Wallis. “By working closely with the Kent Disability Sports Association, we’ve been able to implement sensory-friendly areas, designated seating, and specialized match commentary to ensure that all our fans can fully immerse themselves in the game.”
Not to be outdone, Sittingbourne FC has teamed up with the Kent LGBTQ+ Network to host annual Pride celebrations at their home ground. “Football has the power to bring people together, regardless of their identity or background,” said Sittingbourne’s striker, Alex Donovan. “We’re proud to create a space where our LGBTQ+ fans and allies can feel safe, celebrated, and proud to support their local team.”
Building Bridges, Inspiring the Next Generation
As the Kent Football League continues to grow in popularity, its clubs have recognized the importance of nurturing the next generation of players and fans. Tonbridge Angels FC has established a thriving youth academy, offering free coaching and mentorship to aspiring young footballers from the local area.
“It’s not just about developing their skills on the pitch,” said Tonbridge’s academy director, Adam Harding. “We want to instill in these kids a sense of discipline, teamwork, and community pride that will stay with them long after they hang up their boots.”
Similarly, Folkestone Invicta FC has partnered with the Kent County Council to provide educational workshops and career guidance for students in the region. “Football can be a powerful tool for inspiring and empowering young people,” explained Folkestone’s captain, Emily Jansen. “By sharing our experiences and insights, we hope to help these students unlock their full potential, both on and off the field.”
